Loani Prior coming to Nundle

Wild Knitting in Nundle

With Loani Prior

21 – 23 May 2010

To celebrate the launch of Loani Prior’s new book (released April 2010) ”really wild tea cosies”, we are pleased to announce that Loani, the knitting guru herself, has accepted our invitation to visit Nundle Woollen Mill from Friday 21st May to Sunday 23rd May 2010 to run a workshop of knitting her award winning tea cosies. And you are invited!

It will be an exciting weekend to learn new knitting techniques for those who have limited knitting skills to those who have mastered the craft. You will learn how Loani uses the iconic tea cosy to demonstrate the wild and sculptural possibilities of knitting.

You will learn to knit in the round on two circular needles – a skill you can then transfer to knitting socks, jumpers, bags and all sorts of fabulous things. And you will also learn to knit all kinds of beautiful motifs and accessories.

If you can knit a stitch and purl a stitch and cast on and cast off, you can join this class. If you consider yourself to be an advanced knitter and would like to start to knit outside the square of a pattern, this might also be the weekend for you.

But hurry…..

….there are only 4 places left. Loani sets a limit of only 12 participants per class so that she can offer all knitters as much one-on-one instruction time as possible. Unfortunately we are unable to extend the numbers or add another class so this is a one-time opportunity to learn some exciting new knitting techniques from the master herself!

For just $180.00 for the weekend, you will learn knitting skills that will inspire you to take on projects that you previously thought were beyond your skills. You will look at projects in magazines or knitting books after this weekend and say ‘I can do that’! You will also enjoy the wonderful teaching ability of Loani, who is patient, friendly and above all, a lot of fun (you can see this in her projects). Scrumptious morning and afternoon tea and most importantly afternoon aperitifs to finish each day are included!

This is a weekend that you won’t want to miss. Places are filling fast, so don’t delay booking your place. Call 1300 NUNDLE (1300 686 353) TODAY or email us back ( with your details.

Accommodation in Nundle can be booked at:

Nundle Woollen Mill starts blogging

This is our first blog so please be patient with me, I hope it will be the start of a lot of new info about what is gong on in and around Nundle.

For those of you who haven't visited Nundle before, it is a village of about 250 people, 60 klms SE of Tamworth in Northern NSW. Without doubt, the village survives on tourists although the small population is of great support to the general stores and local watering hole.

Nundle is our piece of wonderful paradise. It has a working woollen mill (surprising called Nundle Woollen Mill) which has machinery dating back to 1914, it has a general store which has been continually operating since 1850 and you can even have a beer in a pub that was won in a poker game!

So on your next drive north to Brisbane or drive south to Sydney (for example), take a small detour off the New England Highway and drop in on us in Nundle. We guarantee you will love it! (I'm not sure what we are going to offer in place of the guarantee if you don't love it....)
We hope to see you all soon
